Selection calculation
Calculate the required volume flow (filter fan)

In enclosures and cabinets with high-efficiency and sensitive electronic components, heat may also become a problem, especially as the packing density increases. In addition, when the maximum operating temperature is exceeded, the service life of components (such as semiconductors) may be shortened. By using a filter fan, the heat generated in the box can be effectively eliminated, thereby ensuring trouble-free operation of the electronic components.

Use the following calculations to correctly evaluate the required filter fan performance. If you need help, please contact us via email or phone.

1.TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE

Changes in temperature must be considered (for example, day and night, summer, winter, climatic zone). Please enter the maximum temperature difference or determine the temperature difference in the case according to the required internal temperature (Ti) and the expected ambient temperature (Tu):

Maximum ambient temperature °F
Required internal temperature °F
Temperature difference K
2. EXISTING HEATING POWER

During operation, the components installed in the cabinet (for example, transformers, relays, semiconductors, bus bars, etc.) generate heat. This self-heating is described as stray power, power loss or dissipation.

Existing heating power W
3.AIR CONSTANT

The air constant f is determined by the altitude (above sea level) of the installation site. It will decrease the air pressure and air density as the altitude increases.

Altitude (above sea level)

Air constant m3K/Wh
